Robots Dance To “Thriller”

by Global Robotics Innovation Park (GRIP) on May 26, 2012

Here’s a fun video of some Nao’s dancing to Michalel Jackson’s, “Thriller.”

The robots are constantly synchronizing with each other, so if one robot lags behind the others will wait for him and the late robot will accelerate until synchronized.

According to Aldebaran Robotics, when the robot is disrupted from the choreography (as seen in the video), he asks the others for a starting position, once standing up again. Then he goes to this position, and starts dancing. And because he starts with a small latency, he dances a little faster and the others a little slower until they are synchronized.
